Do you Like Being Hated?

Published by beaconwriter at 10:58 pm under Religion and Faith Edit This

John 15:18-”If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.  If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own.  As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.  That is why the world hates you.

I don’t often talk about Jesus to people that I’m not sure of how they feel about Him.  I’m concerned that their reaction will not be positive, not even hateful, just not positive.  I’ve wondered if anyone ever turned Jesus down when He asked them to follow Him.  Then I remember that His direction from God was perfect, mine not so much.  However, that reminds me of a saying from many years ago that if I don’t feel close to God, who moved?

Jesus knows that I will not be received well by everyone that I mention Him to, perhaps even hatefully reacted to by them.  He knows that the world, as a whole, hated Him because wherever He went He told the truth.  He was not politically correct.

He challenged wrong when He encountered it.  Centuries later, His words have been analyzed, embraced, questioned, disputed, even ignored, but the wave of public opinion rages on.  I run a greater risk because the Internet is abounding with opinion about the validity of Christ and following Him.  Few have at least not heard of Him in one context or another.  But I was chosen by Him, He says, drawn out of the darkness into His light and I am called to make a difference by spreading His reality to those I encounter.  Make disciples, He commands.  Bear fruit.  He is with me, no matter the reaction.  It’s worth the risk.  He has chosen me out of the world.  It’s worth the risk!

Say what you want to say and believe what you want to believe in. That’s your right and screw those who don’t agree…its their right also. Just never let others silence your opinions or beliefs. I love being hated to be honest. It motivates me :)

And I’m sure Obama feels the same way you do, so thank you for expressing it better than most have the faith it takes to do.

@vphipps~What does this article have to do with Obama? Oh, I forgot. Libtards like you believe Obama is the “savior.” Just proved another point for those of us who have better knowledge and common sense.

@scotty - I really did not want to say this but you say what you want so I will to.

If people hate you it is for a totally different reason than they hated Christ. They hate you because of what you allow to fall out of your mouth and most of it has nothing to do with truth, thought, common sense, relevancy, acceptance or love.

For a minute you almost made me stoop to your level - you irritated me so much I almost hated you but now, now I only feel sorry for you and pray that somehow the wisdom of Jesus touches your heart.

You are my earthly brother and I want what is best for you - step into the light my brother and enjoy the peace and love!!!!

@truth2u~and Jesus wasn’t hated for what “fell out of his mouth?” I have something for you. Point out where I have lied? Thats the problem with people like you. You call someone a liar but fail, time and time again, to point it out. Just because I bitch-slap your favorite “hopenchange” leader with his own lies, yet you constantly call me a liar without backing up your claims. Keep your prayers and pray that one day your blind faith in a lying politician will end. Peace out!

@scotty - see that’s just how much you know - jealousy was what caused the problems - those who were religious “leaders” did not like the fact that Jesus claimed he could forgive/wipe away sin - they did not like his attitude that he was…even his followers did not have a true understanding of him because they were looking for a different kind of savior so the words he let fall out of his mouth were on some levels confused by those who heard him.

Read the Bible and get the truth - Why do you think he said “Father forgive them for they know not what they do” as he was hanging on the cross - because he knew they did not truly understand his words or actions.

Just like you don’t understand the words you hear/read or what is a legitimate effort in deeds so too did the words of Jesus fall on deaf/confused ears.

I’m not mad at you - you just, again, demonstrated that you do not have a clue.

I forgot to mention, since you feel you are like Christ because people hate you for what falls out of your mouth, that the words of Jesus were of truth, love, wisdom, understanding and a desire for mankind to get along - the words you let fall out of your mouth are hate, lies you hear others speak, lack of understanding and division - there is a big difference - trust me you are nothing like Jesus Christ and if people hate you it is because of the “ignorant” things you say.

@truth2u…again you make the claims but can’t back them up. Sounds like you are either lying or just blind to facts. I didn’t compare myself to Jesus. That is something you liberals love to do with Obama and believe me, he is as far as he can be from Jesus.

I do like how liberals always decide someone’s intelligence. Coming from someone who would follow a politician off a cliff is a true sign of mental retardation.

I would challenge you to any I.Q. test truth, because time and time again you have been asked to debate and you can’t.

Again, your challenge is to show where I have lied. I can point out several lies your fake messiah, Obama, has made. Point out just one of mine and I will leave you only. If you can’t, shut up. Plain and simple!
