Obama On the Rampage
It sure seems like politics as usual to me, especially considering the campaign for change. Go to a job hungry area to speak to people desperate for help, no matter in what form, and tell them how bad the opposition party is for their petty politicking. Pass the bill now. What President Obama doesn’t say is that the vast number of potential government jobs won’t even come on line for one to two years, that government jobs will tend to stay on when the “stimulus ” money is gone so they’ll have to be supported by tax hikes in either the local, state or property tax and that this bill doesn’t solve any of the problems in the economy. It sounds like trust me because I’m from the government and I want to help. That phrase has been the brunt of the joke for decades for a reason. The cover headline on Newsweek should send chills down anyone’s spine with a brain attached to it, “We’re All Socialists Now!” Have you been to France to see the beacon of socialism? You don’t want to live there unless you have a lot of money. If you don’t have it when you go, you won’t be able to earn it. If the headline is true, you wont want to live here either. It was whimpered during the campaign. We better start shouting it now so hopefully the electorate wakes up before it’s too late. Socialism doesn’t work. It never has and it never will.
The opposition party opposes it because it is a BAD bill, in either form House or Senate. The President wants to have a pork roast at your expense. The meat will be hard to swallow and it won’t taste very good, ever.
Hmmm, let’s see here… we’ve got an economy in shambles, people losing their jobs left and right and plan to help that’s not perfect but better than nothing. And then you’ve got an opposition party willing to let people twist in the wind over some principles that they didn’t give a rats ass about when their guy was president. I didn’t hear much talk from republicans worried about spending when the money was going to Haliburton on no bid contracts. I didn’t hear much talk from republicans worried about spending when they tacked on billions of pork in the Wall St. Bailout. I didn’t hear much talk from republicans worried about spending when we jumped into a war of choice with a country that did not attack us. No, the only time y’all are worried about spending is when it actually might help us working stiffs who are struggling in an economy that has crashed thanks to decades of deregulated bullshit. So you bet your ass Obama is going to take his case to the people who need this stimulus the most since you people couldn’t care less. Politics as usual would be to work his way around the system and pull some abuse of executive power. Maybe he should, since republicans sure as hell didn’t have a problem with those kinds of shenanigans over the last 8 years.
This “socialism” you whine about gave us the Lincoln Tunnel, the Triborough Bridge, the Bonneville Dam, the USS Yorktown, the Blue Ridge Parkway and all sorts of other bad evil horrible public works projects that put people to work during the great depression. And back then there were republicans whining about that, too. They were on the wrong side of history then and you are on the wrong side now. The magical markets aren’t going to fix this one on their own.
